At the London Scottish competition in March, Roger triumphed with second place in the senior piobaireachd with a fine presentation of Togail nam Bo, judged by Tom Spiers. Well done Roger.

Hamish Robertson, Lachlan Macdonald and Michael Parr battled nobly for position in the amateur section but were overwhelmed by younger and fitter players who tend not to make elementary mistakes.

The entry was OK but not enormous. We need to support these events, otherwise they will not happen. The occasional opportunity like that to listen to, talk to and play alongside world class players should be cherished.

Not yet in the SPSL diary (
http://www.scottishpipingsocietyoflondon.com/eventsdiary.html) but the Members' Competition will be held open air at the Harpenden Games in July. Alasdair Smith alasdairthepiper@hotmail.com
is organiser. We have plenty of time to practice.

Reminder for Sandy Christie's dinner in the City on Friday 26 March. He will happily take your cheque for £36 for the next few days.
